Fill the cup full with rice and place into the pan and wash the rice with water by simply running under the tap and rubbing the rice together with your hands and then emptying the water and repeating 3 times.
Measure out and add the one and a half cups worth of water to the pan with the rice along with the butter (and garlic powder/spices).
Put on the hop and put the heat on max and wait till the butter has melted and it starts to bubble.
Give a quick stir and reduce heat to the lowest possible, put a lid on and leave for 10 minutes.
After the 10 minutes are up, turn off the heat and move away from the hob (if electric) and leave again for 10 minutes.
Take off the lid and fluff up with a fork and serve!
