CHICKEESY (CHICKEN & CHEESE) PASTA DISH RECIPE

This recipe may sound a little odd, but it is a divine pasta dish with a creamy sauce and chicken. 

It came about after my sister found a recipe that had a few of these elements and I have simply embellished it and made the recipe easy to follow and quick to make.

I have based this off 2 people (like with the majority of my recipes), but if you need to adjust the quantities or need something checking, then please add a comment and let me know and I will try to assist you.

Chicken and cheese are a great combination for this pasta dish... and of course garlic, too.

Equipment

  • frying pan
  • saucepan x 2 (pasta and sauce)

Ingredients
  

  • 2 chicken breasts cut into cubes
  • 250 g pasta I usually use the spirals although we have had it with penne in the past
  • 2 tbsp butter around 40g
  • 3 tbsp flour around 30g
  • 250 ml chicken stock
  • 250 ml milk
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 good pinch salt & pepper
  • 100 g cheese of your choice, grated suggestion would be gouda or cheddar

Instructions
 

  • Cook the chicken over a medium heat until fully cooked.
  • After the chicken is cooked, cook the pasta according to the packet or until ready.
  • Add the butter to a saucepan and when it has melted add the flour and whisk until it creates a smooth paste. Gradually add the liquids so that the sauce starts to come together. Add the garlic powder and season with salt and pepper (to taste) and add the cheese. Mix together until the sauce is thick and creamy.
  • Now that you have made the separate elements, mix them all together and serve immediately.
