CRAFTS & TIPS

Christmas Tree Decorations and present tags using bicarbonate of soda dough
knitted scarf

Unlike The Nolan Sisters who are in the mood for dancing, I find myself often in the mood for crafting. I have a dabble at many different fun DIY crafts and some I haven’t even managed to get around to. I do love during the winter season to knit a new scarf or make some more decorations to display.

There is always a reason for getting creative, whether using old clothes to sew a patchwork blanket or making your own birthday cards to show that little bit of extra love. During times in lockdown whilst living in Vienna, I knitted a scarf and gave this to a friend before leaving this wonderful city. She was over the moon and now has a way that she can think of me and our short but sweet time together. At Christmas, I made tree decorations that were also present tags. These were just as precious to family and as treasured as the actual gift.

GET CREATIVE!

I certainly think that the time we have all had in lockdown/quarantine/living at home 24/7 has made many of us try to find hobbies and things that can be done at home seems we are stuck here!

As much as I have a passion for the arts and crafts, anyone can get involved (especially when we are restricted to the 4 walls anyways). Why not give Netflix, Disney+ and Prime a break and at least get your hands and  fingers moving.

What I also try to do (like with the recipes) is to keep things basic and simple. Along with posts to get your hands busy and get those creative juices flowing, I will also provide some tips to make other tasks quicker or easier! With so much to do, I shan’t keep you a minute longer. Let your imagination run wild and remember to share your creations with me by email or instagram (@nanny.craig).
